Having to cancel our shooting day

We are very close to having everything ready as much as possible, which is including the guns, which are with Ali and need picking up. We have everything else pretty much all together. All the rest of the costumes and props are in Jason's classroom ready to pick up tomorrow morning, when they are needed.

As it is January, the weather is not good at all. It is very cold and wet. But today we have a very high chance in which it can snow tonight, which means that it will make it much more difficult to shoot in. The school have also said that it is a shorter day due to the weather front, so this means that we wouldn't have enough time to do all the shooting in one day. It also a higher risk in me not getting in to school, this also includes the teachers getting in too. So after having many discussions about the weather front, we think it is better to cancel the shooting for tomorrow for health and safety and also hopefully when we sort another date out the weather should be a bit better than snow on the ground.
So hopefully we will be about to sort a date out as soon as possible, because this is a huge disadvantage for us, as it is less time to edit in the editing suites.

Below is an email in which we sent to all the teachers who were going to help us tomorrow with the acting of the robbers and policemen.

Final shooting schedule

Today we have been doing some last minute preparations before shooting. Laura has been emailing the teachers in which are going to help us with the acting. She is double checking in the timing with them and making sure they know where they are meeting us.
We have done this schedule so that we do the policemen down the alleyway first, because of the lighting and getting dark earlier.  Then the policemen on the roof with the snipper gun. Then a early lunch, then moving on to the robbers in the van. So we have scheduled the van to come at 1.30pm at school for the afternoon.

Shooting schedule:

10-11.30am - Ian and Jason location at school down the alleyway

11.30- 1.00pm - Phil and Dave location at school on roof

1.45- 4.30pm - Adam and chef Jason off campus in Cranliegh in van

Below is where Laura has email the teachers to inform them the details in which we want them to know about the shooting day and how it going to run.

While Laura was busy emailing the teachers and confirming with them. I was making sure that we had all the costumes and props ready. This is both policemen and robbers. This was a vital time making sure that we have everything, if not making sure we can get it in time. But from the beginning I have made sure that I need to get all the costumes and props there in time, which they were. All I needed to pick up was the guns in which Ali was spray painting black for us.
So for us as a group we were in a great situation to just chill and not worry about ordering anything else.

Receipts from ordering the costumes.

Below are the receipts and the estimated times of arrivals the items which I purchased online.

Police Marksmen Jackets.

 Walkie Talkies

Black police caps

Problems with delivery times

When ordering the items which we need for the police costumes. I came across the delivery times on the items, and checking that they will be here before shooting. Most of the items I ordered were from the British Isles but the police badges which we need for the cap, were going to be imported from Thailand and they were expecting the delivery to be in-between 22nd January to the 7th February. I thought that this was going to be risking ordering them and not arriving in time.

I had a little panic, about were can I get some more badges made. I was very lucky to be on holiday in Bali, were I contacted a embroidery company who was able to make me some badges. I took a image of the badges from the internet to show them what I would like them to be like, we talked about colours, size and what material to use. Below is a image of what the final badges looks like from the embroidery company.

Purchasing in costumes

I have also been researching in to purchasing in costumes in various online websites. I have mostly been looking in to the police costumes. As from my previous post, I found it really difficult to find some black caps which had police on them. So I had to research in black caps as well as police badges, which was a bit of a mission to find some realistic police badges. Below is what I am going to purchase for our thriller costumes.

Police iron on badge: £1.97

Marksmen black cap: £1.39

Police marksmen jacket: £10

Police trousers: We are going to email our cast and see if they have any black trousers like these, if not we will purchase them to size and order.

Above is some police boots, which look very realastic. We haven't purchase any of these as the cast may have some similar ones.

Costumes for the marksmen

What I have been doing over the last couple of days is researching in to what our marksmen would be wearing on the top of the roof. After researching many images of marksmen's, I found a perfect one of what I had imaged in my mind. My image was wearing black jacket/coat, earpieces, cap/hat and then a marksmen gun beside them. This is the image which I found which I would like our marksmen to look like.

As above these marksmen have black caps on with police printed on. We found it very difficult to buy caps with police on them. So we will have to purchase in some police badges. We also want to make it clear to the audience that these marksmen are police and not the robbers, as both are wearing black.
